It’s Fall ya’ll! I know it’s been Fall for a while, but unlike the rest of the country, it just recently started to feel like it here in southern Cali!
I finally updated my porch for the season. We host Thanksgiving every year so I liketo make sure that the entry way is welcoming, warm, and well, fall-like!
Fall Porch
I wanted to keep it simple, so like I did with my mantel, I shopped my house, and gathered a bunch of stuff I had in the house and brought it outside.
Easy Fall DIY Projects
{Bunting}:
{Pumpkin Pots}:
Gather a bunch of stray branches a tie pretty ribbon around them for a simple splash of color! |
I made pumpkin pots out of 2 plastic jack-o-lanterns I picked up for 75 cents a piece. I removed the handles, primed and painted them white with glossy spray paint.
I placed bright yellow mums inside (drilled a hole at the bottom), and faced the jack o’ lantern face towards the wall, so that I can use them for the entire Fall season, not just Halloween!
{‘Welcome’ Bottles}:
This past Summer I painted some bottles with chalk paint for my centerpiece. For Fall, I simply changed the wording and placed them on the inside of the window sill.
The focal point for the porch, and color scheme inspiration is the wreath I threw together with fabric scraps. I love it! It’s going to be hard to take it down in just a few weeks for Christmas!

I think you style is wonderful. Great idea using those boxers. I always try to get out without really having to buy stuff and it is so much more fun when you go with what you have.

That is such a great idea to repurpose boxers! Now I know what to do next time my husband outgrows his.

I like the recycling aspect of this great fall porch! I want to do so much on my porch, but we’ve had some incredibly windy weather – it has even blown over heavy potted plants! I will definitely go at it again in a few weeks. Your porch makes me want to get all cozy on the front porch and people watch.

So beautiful! I love the idea of using plastic pumpkins as planters. I’d seen it done with real pumpkins before but yours are better! I need you to decorate my porch!
